5 things I love about the turkey coma slow-down

Thanksgiving serving

  1. gives people permission to doze off in the middle of the day on your couch.
  2. gets others, who rarely leave the couch, motivated to join a leisurely group walk.
  3. weakens the will power to resist that second helping, second piece of pie, or champagne glass topper-upper.
  4. suckers adults into playing endless board games they otherwise claim to be too busy for.
  5. slows us all down long enough to catch up on life’s stories since the fall season went into overdrive.

What a joy. What did your day look like?

  1. Rhonda says:

Breakfast at The Tides, followed by 3 hours on the beach. Back to dress for dinner — a short walk up to The Betsy, for traditional Thanksgiving Day dinner at BLT Steak, or 3rd or 4th time there. Chestnut and Fois Gras soup, followed by roast turkey and dressing and gravy, macaroni and cheese, swiss chard, roasted potatoes, cranberry sauce, and for dessert, pecan pie and pumpkin flan! It was a gloriously sunny day!
