“Thoughts brought back to you with added majesty”

I heard film director Noah Baumbach speak these words in an interview about his latest film, Frances Ha, with Terry Gross this week. He was searching around for the perfect way to explain how he’s been inspired by writers in the past, and then he nailed it with “they are like thoughts brought back to you with added majesty”.

YES! That’s how it is!! That was majestic too. I often have that feeling. It’s wonderful.

It can happen with certain prose, editorials, interviews, and let’s not forget comic strips and cartoons. This happened to me on Sunday when I opened the comics and made my usual bee-line for the Zits strip. They didn’t disappoint on Mother’s Day. If you are not already a Zits fan, do check it out. I live the life of this mother most days!
